| I am "home." Not so sure how I feel about that yet.

| So, I have a Chinese friend who lives in my building. A couple of weeks ago he asked me some things about christianity and I tried to explain what I could. I never realized how difficult it is to try to explain christianity to someone who has never heard of Jesus before. Anyway, he asked me if he could come to church with me today so obviously I said yes. I have been praying all day yesterday and today before church that everything would be clear for him but afterwards he ended up having even more questions than before. When I tried to explain some things to him he told me that it was alright and he didn't really care that much anyway. I feel like I have failed so miserably.

| As time goes by..... Wow, I did not realize how long it has been since I last posted on this thing. Too much has happened in the time that has passed to explain what has been going on in my life these past few months. A brief rundown: ~ My Australian roommate has returned home and I now live with a Latvian girl ~ I realize more every day how much I hate writting. (ie: too many papers worth too much %of my final grades) ~ I still work at a hotel and am learing Polish at the hands of one of my co-workers in exchange for English lessons (name: Sylvester a.k.a Sylvek) ~ My parents and my brother came to visit last week. That was great fun and was all three of their first times in the UK and my parents first time out of the US (excepting, of course, Canada) ~ Final exams (4 in French, 1 in politics, 1 in German theatre) are just around the corner then I will be home in June to do Je ne sais pas... | | |
| So now that I have finished all of my exams and papers for the semester that ends, um...today I have a bit of time to show some long overdue christmas pictures before the next semester starts on monday!!! OK, these are some shots of the christmas dinner that we had in my kitchen:

For actual Christmas I was in Belfast with Marcus and his family (who are all fabulous). We ate a lot of food and played a lot of games. On Boxing day we for a hike past some resevoirs and up to a war monument that is quite literally int he middle of nowhere. Marcus' dad, Janeen, Andrew, Naomi & Phoebe, Jason, Marcus (behind cat), Marcus' mom, & Jim (family friend)

The fat cat, Phoebe: It is very difficult to take a good picture when there is more than one camera flashing at the same time:

| "And the rain keeps on coming down..." When I am at home I love the rain. Especially thunderstorms and torrential downpours. Here there are no thunder storms, it just rains non-stop. The Kelvin River, which I cross everyday on my way to uni, is swollen and filthy as the muddy banks are being swept downstream. I am not exagerating when I say that in the past month we have only had about 6 days of no rain and only about two of them consecutive. It is cold and rainy and I am bored since almost everyone in my building haas gone home for the holidays. Speaking of holidays...Christmas was amazing. Probably the best time I've had since I've been here. Marcus' familly is great and it was really nice to get out of Glasgow. When people in my building get back I will have a computer that I can download some pics on. So, in a couple of weeks I will have some pictures of Belfast. (well, Carrickfergus) | | |
